|The Children’s Room offers regular literacy programs for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, as well as special program throughout the year such as our summer reading challenge, nature and science programs and book events. Our regular school year programs engage our youngest museum patrons through stories, songs, games, and crafts. For toddlers our story hour promotes speech and listening skills though repetition and fun challenges. Our preschool program assists in the development of early social and behavioral skills essential for schooling. SCALES AND TALES - CHEWONKI PROGRAM

Many people conjure up images of slimy skin and bloodthirsty monsters when they hear the word "reptile". This hands-on program works to dispel some of those fears by allowing students to examine snake skins, turtle shells, skeletons, and other unique reptilian artifacts.

Interested in Anime? Already a fan or curious to know what it's all about? Join us for old and new favorites, plus snacks and socializing. Meets the last Friday of each month.

Join us on Wednesdays for after school "lounge", where tweens and teens can be themselves. A safe and fun space for homework, socializing and/or participating in various group activities. Drop in for ten minutes for stay for an hour.

The Pokemon League meets Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the Deering Room. League follows school schedule, if there is no school due to vacation or a snow day the Pokemon League will not meet.
A Pokemon League provides a nearby place for you to get together with other fans of the Pokemon Trading Card Game and have some fun. Using your own cards you can play, trade, and even earn cool prizes! The best part is that you can do all this with other Pokemon players who love collecting and playing just as much as you do.
