Children's Literacy Programs:

The Children’s Room offers regular literacy programs for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, as well as special program throughout the year such as our summer reading challenge, nature and science programs and book events. Our regular school year programs engage our youngest museum patrons through stories, songs, games, and crafts. For toddlers our story hour promotes speech and listening skills though repetition and fun challenges. Our preschool program assists in the development of early social and behavioral skills essential for schooling. Ocean Exploring with High Touch High Tech
Monday, June 27, 3 p.m.
In keeping with our Oceans of Possibilities theme, our next High Touch High Tech session will be on exploring the oceans! Open to all school age students!

Fun Run Concert!
Thursday, June 23, 3 p.m.
Fun Run, a Maine based Kindie Rock Band, brings family-friendly sing-along songs to children that their parents enjoy as well. Their songs tell stories that range from adventurous dogs and ladybugs to teaching kindness. A Fun Run show is an upbeat and interactive live musical performance featuring singing, guitars, ukuleles, and even a bouzouki. Fun Run is currently celebrating the release of their debut CD, Go Have Some Fun. instagram.com/funrunband/ This show is geared for pre-K to 10 yrs. old but anyone who loves music is welcome!

Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Fun!
Summer 2022

The Dyer Library Children's Room kicks off our Summer Reading & Activities program on June 13th! This summer's theme is "Oceans of Possibilities." We will have activities including a mermaid parade, music, dancing, crafts and more! You can earn prizes by completing our reading challenge and bingo! Mermaid Parade
Tuesday, June 21, 1 p.m.
Wear your best mermaid costumes, t-shirts, dresses and join us for a fun parade on Summer Solstice!

Waves of Creativity
Wednesdays, June 22 & June 29, 10 a.m.
Join us for ocean themed crafts on Wednesdays this summer at 10:00am. If the weather is nice we will have the crafts outside and in the Children's Room during inclement weather. Children of all ages welcome!

Baby Shark Adventure Time
Thursdays, June 23 & June 30, 10:30 a.m.
We welcome our youngest patrons to join us this summer on Thursday mornings for some ocean-themed fun including parachute play, ocean floor mat exploration, lighthouse building and other fun activities. For children 2 and under.


Legos Challenge
Wednesday, June 8, 1:30 p.m.
Starting March 9th, Lego Club Challenges will be held every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Deering Room! Legos are provided! This will be the last session before summer break.

Home School Hodge Podge
Tuesday, June 14, 10:30 a.m.
This month's Home School Hodge Podge will be History and Crafts! This will be the last meeting before summer break. Please check with the Children's Room for more information.

Romp & Rhyme Storytime
Thursday, June 9, 10:00 a.m.
Join Ms. Cheryl for some songs, rhymes, dancing, and stories in the Deering Room! Make it a part of your routine and join us every Thursday morning! This will be the last meeting before summer break.
