Dyer Library Archives Mission
The mission of the Dyer Library Archives webpage
is to inform the general public seeking
genealogical and historical information about
The Maine History Room and it's Special Collections.
The archives contain 100,000 documents and 3,000 photographs
besides regional history books and maps.
The facility is staffed 5 days a week
with dedicated and qualified volunteers.
In addition students from the University of Maine in Augusta
assist in processing and preserving archival collections.
Staff will periodically update this website
when new collections become available to the public.
Also special exhibits or events at the Dyer Library will be posted.
For the preservation and protection of the collection
all research will be supervised by the staff.
